Abstract:
I will discuss conditions on a 2-complex which guarantee that its 2nd
L 2 betti number
vanishes. One application is that the fundamental group of certain 2-complexes
are “coherent” which means that all their finitely generated subgroups are
finitely presented. You will need only the most basic definitions concerning
cellular homology to follow my talk.
